1 · The deal

Subcool's The Dank (subcool.com) is the archive and living school of Montgomery “Subcool” Ball — his tapes, articles, genetics records, and an AI assistant trained on his work — plus a community of growers. By using the site or the installed app you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the site.

2 · Who can be here

You must be of legal age to view cannabis-related content where you live — 21+ in most of the United States. By using the site you confirm that you are.

You're responsible for knowing and following your local laws. Cannabis law varies wildly by state and country; nothing here changes what's legal where you stand.

3 · Education, not advice

Everything on this site — the tapes, the articles, the books, and every answer from the AI — is educational and historical material about cannabis cultivation. It is not legal advice, not medical advice, and not an instruction to grow where growing is prohibited.

The AI speaks in Subcool's voice and draws on his archive, but it is a machine: it can be wrong, and its answers are not reviewed by a human before you see them. Use your own judgment, especially about anything touching health, law, or money.

4 · Seeds

Seed listings shown on this site are offered by independent, third-party seedbanks. Your purchase is with them, on their terms — we don't process payments for seeds, hold inventory, or ship anything. Cannabis seeds are sold as collectible souvenirs where that's the law.

5 · Your account and conduct

Keep your account yours — you're responsible for what happens under your login.

What you post — grow journals, photos, comments, messages — stays yours. By posting it here you give us a license to display it on the site, because that's what displaying it is, and to let Subcool AI read it so his advice fits your garden — which you can switch off any time under Settings.

When you rate one of his answers or a keeper corrects one, that feedback may be used to improve his answers and his voice. It's never published under your name.

No buying, selling, trading, or shipping of cannabis, cannabis products, or seeds through the site — not in posts, not in the Lounge, not in direct messages. That's the house rule, and automated scanning enforces it (see the Privacy Policy). Seeds live at the licensed seedbanks we link to.

Don't use the site to harass people, run scams, spam, post anything illegal, or impersonate others. We can remove content, restrict features, or close accounts that do — and members can block and report each other, which we act on.

When you share a post — the share card, the link preview, POST TO X — we render an image and a preview of that post so the link arrives looking like the post. That's part of the display license above, nothing more: your post, shown where you sent it.

You can close your account any time under Settings; your data and photos go with it as the Privacy Policy describes. If we close an account for breaking these rules, we'll say why when we can, and the same deletions apply.

Direct messages are private between members and are automatically deleted after 90 days, as our Privacy Policy promises — the only exception is a flagged excerpt kept as a moderation record when a message breaks the rules.

6 · Memberships

Paid tiers (Grower, WeedNerd+) are billed through Patreon under Patreon's own terms. Cancel any time there; your perks here follow your Patreon standing. Usage allowances (daily AI questions, monthly photo reads and voice minutes) are what the membership page says they are, and may evolve — we keep the published numbers true to what the code does.

7 · The archive

The recovered tapes, articles, books, photographs, strain records, and the Subcool voice model are the legacy we steward. Personal viewing and sharing links is what they're here for; scraping, republishing, or commercial reuse isn't, without written permission.

If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, email info@subcool.com with: the work you own, where on the site it appears (the link), how to reach you, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you're the owner or act for them. We take down what we're required to, tell the member who posted it, and accept a counter-notice by the same route. Accounts that infringe repeatedly are closed.

8 · The honest limits

The site is provided as-is. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we don't warrant uninterrupted service, and to the maximum extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the past twelve months.

What you post is your responsibility. If a claim is made against us because of something you posted or did here, you agree to cover the costs that come from it.

We can change these terms; when we do meaningfully, we'll say so on the site. Continuing to use it means you accept the changes.

9 · Reach a human

Questions about these terms, takedown requests, or anything else: the contact page reaches the keeper directly.
